SchoolBus ("SchoolBus", "we", "us", or "our") operates the schoolbus.kz website, our school and shuttle transportation tracking platform, and supports the NexaRide mobile app used by parents and passengers to track trips (together, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Because our Service is used to transport students, it necessarily involves data about children — we take that responsibility seriously and describe it specifically below.
Who This Applies To
This policy covers three kinds of people who interact with our Service:
- Visitors to the schoolbus.kz website
- Parents and guardians who use the NexaRide app to track their children or other passengers
- School and organization staff — transportation coordinators, drivers, and administrators who manage routes through our platform
Information We Collect
Account and Contact Information
When you register an account, contact us through the website, or use the NexaRide app, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and — for schools and organizations — your school or company name.
Passenger and Student Information
Parents and guardians who add a passenger (such as a child) in the NexaRide app provide that passenger's name, and optionally a photo, for identification purposes. Schools and organizations provide the route, stop, and shift assignments associated with each passenger.
Where a school uses AI camera face recognition or Bluetooth beacon attendance, boarding and alighting events are recorded and linked to the passenger's profile to power attendance records and notifications.
Location Data
To provide live tracking, we collect the GPS location of vehicles operating on our platform. Location data is shared with parents and coordinators only for the passengers and routes they are authorized to view.
Usage and Device Data
Like most websites and apps, we automatically collect some technical data: IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, and similar diagnostic information, used to keep the Service secure and working correctly.
Cookies and Chat
Our website uses cookies for basic functionality and analytics. We also use HubSpot to power our live chat widget; if you use chat, HubSpot may collect the information you provide in that conversation, in accordance with HubSpot's own privacy policy.
How We Use Data
We use the data described above to:
- Operate and maintain the Service, including live tracking, attendance, and notifications
- Connect parents to the correct passengers, routes, and schools
- Send trip-related notifications (boarding, arrival, delays, missed pickups)

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use passenger or student data for advertising.
Who We Share Data With
- Schools and organizations you connect to in the app see the data needed to run their routes — attendance, stop assignments, and live location during active shifts.
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (such as HubSpot for support chat, and app store platforms for distributing NexaRide) receive only what's necessary to provide their service to us.
- Legal authorities, where required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of SchoolBus, our users, or the public.
We do not share passenger or student data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is used to transport students, and passenger profiles for children are created and managed by a parent or guardian through their own account — children do not register their own accounts. If you are a parent or guardian, you control the information associated with your child's passenger profile and can request its removal at any time by contacting us.
If you believe a child's information has been provided to us other than by a parent or guardian, please contact us so we can address it.
Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account or your child's passenger profile is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for safety records, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You can request deletion of your data at any time, subject to any retention we're required to maintain by law.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transmission of location and account data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
